EASTER PAGEANTRY

A statue of Our Lady of Sorrows is carried during a procession outside Stella Maris Church in Sliema, four kilometres away from Valletta, on April 6, 2001. Malta is a devoutly Catholic country and will be visited by Pope John Paul II in May as part of his pilgrimage in the footsteps of St Paul. It was St Paul who converted the Maltese to Christianity around 60AD.
