Fire fighters from Malta’s Civil Protection Division prepare to board the ferryboat MV CALYPSO as jets of water are sprayed from shore onto the ship during a fire fighting exercise in Grand Harbour in Valletta on October 19. The MV CALYPSO normally operates alongside several other ferries between the Maltese islands of Malta and Gozo, and such is the volume of traffic that an incident on board one of the ferries has been identified as the most likely maritime disaster scenario around the islands.
