PICTURE OF THE WEEK

Egyptian performing artist Nora Amin tears through plastic sheets wrapped around her while performing her solo show "Arab" at St James Cavalier Centre for Creativity in Valletta September 18, 2004. The multi-media performance is based on four poems from the collection "Muslim" written by Amin herself, dealing with dispelling popular Western misperceptions of the Arab stereotype. It questions definitions, breaks rules and taboos and shifts the borders between cultures and genres.
