Michelangelo Attard kisses the coffin of his daughter Rosie, better known as the Siamese twin Mary, during her funeral in Xaghra on the island of Gozo, Malta's sister island,
on January 19. The surviving twin Jodie was not present at the funeral as she
was still under hospital care at St Mary's Hospital in Manchester. Mary died aged 3 months on November 6 when she was separated from Jodie in an operation which aroused controversy around the world, as Mary was sacrificed to save Jodie.
