Nationalist Party supporters wave European Union and party flags during an address by Malta's Prime Minister and Party leader Eddie Fenech Adami, at a mass meeting in Floriana, a suburb of Valletta, April 6, 2003. Malta goes to the polls in general elections on April 12, just over a month after the Maltese voted Yes in a referendum on European Union membership. The pro-EU Nationalist Party has a slight lead in latest opinion polls. Meanwhile, the opposition Malta Labour Party remains adamant that it will ignore the outcome of the referendum if elected, and will not sign the EU Accession Treaty in Athens four days after the elections.
